On March 27, 2007, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute collaborated with Metro to hold a retail education seminar at Metro’s own training kitchen.? Metro’s purchasing director and 25 managers from all over China attended the meeting.? During the seminar chef Alan from Alaska introduced the qualities of Alaska seafood through a slide show. Chef Alan also demonstrated cooking methods for Alaska salmon, snow crab and black cod.? All managers were very interested and made a many inquiries about Alaska seafood. Through this activity all seafood department managers were made more aware of Alaska seafood and its world class status.
